A Bouquet of Crochet?

March 21st, 2012

Next Thursday evening we will be teaching a crochet class at Craft Guerrilla’s new shop in Wood St Market, in Walthamstow.

And as a special introductory offer you can now bring along a friend, and they only pay half-price for their ticket!

Come and learn how to crochet a flower, and then make it into a greeting card, brooch or gift of your choice.

The main class is from 6-8pm on Thursday 29th March, but if you are an absolute beginner and want a little extra time getting your head around the basics we will be available from 5.30 to help you get started.

Price: Tickets are £20 each or 2 for £30 (this includes tea and cake!)

Single tickets available from Craft Guerrilla’s web shop

To get the offer please email craftguerrilla(at)yahoo.com with the code FRIEND and you will receive a reply with a paypal button for either both tickets or just the second ticket if you have already purchased your own ticket.

Location: Unit 37 Wood Street Indoor Market, 98-100Wood Street

We would love to see you down there, for what we hope will be the first of a series of workshops we will be teaching.

Once you have learnt the basic principles of crochet, we will help you follow patterns (or if you prefer learn how to free-style) as we move from flat shapes to 3D crochet!

Sannapanda & Friend’s Table-top St.Valentine’s Pop-up Shop Whistle-stop Tour (of North & East London)

February 3rd, 2012

So this month, we are proud to announce that we are taking things on the road once again!

This time in honour of St. Valentine!

Love it or Loathe it, at this time of year it is all around us! So we have decided to completely embrace it!

Valentine's pop-up tour

Not personally a massive fan of the day itself for no particular reason other than its over-hyped-ness. But as I have always loved the <3 as graphic icon in design (from my finnish nighties as a small child to my favourite Paul Frank hoodie)

It has always been a something I love to use in my work, and find hard to resist in others.

So it seemed like a bloody good excuse to collect together some of my favourite pieces of the & Friends collective, along with my  own Hearty sets and bits!

After all the fun we had at the Christmas fairs in new areas of London, we decided to make it more of a tour than a static shop!

So below is where we will, for want of a better phrase, be popping up over the next week or so…

We kick things off at Make Do & Mend, at Ye Olde Rose & Crown in Walthamstow, on Thursday 9th Feb. For lots of Crafting and some vintage styling fun.

Rose & Crown Feb 9th

Then we will be collaborating with Sarah Butler of Violet Iris to bring something special to the Create Place in Bethnal Green, for this month’s Second Friday Society (a few tickets still available here)

Create place feb 10th

Then we return to E17 for the Love Hand Made fair at Vestry House Museum. The lovely ladies from EtsyUK will be running a workshop there too click here for more details

Vestry House Feb 11th

On Sunday 12th we will be making our debut at WonderHill Market, as they cross over from London Bridge to their Spring Fling second home at Keston Lodge in Angel.

Keston Lodge 12th Feb

And for the finale we will be the Craftavista Social Club’s at its new home Hideaway Bar in Highgate, with Heartbreak Bingo and DJ set by Frida Black Heart!

Hideaway Bar 14th Feb

Massive thanks must go to Craft Guerrilla for inviting us to join them at 3 out of 5 of these fantastic events!

And not only are they single-handedly running these events, but they are also in the middle of setting up their own shop! Opening the very same weekend! Nuts! …and I thought I was the one possibly taking on too much at once!

So if you are in East London that weekend, please do take a detour to their new shop in Wood St market, or look out for their upcoming regular opening hours from then on.

Wood St market opens 11th Feb

Homeward bound…

December 16th, 2011

(Just watched a great programme about Simon & Garfunkel on catch-up telly!)

After a ridiculously busy few weeks, this weekend we are returning to our home from home… Of Cabbages & Kings Christmas market in Abney Hall.

(the gorgeous flyer was illustrated by Liz Loveless from Factory Press)

But while we are staying local our stuff will be certainly doing the rounds!

Firstly, it is the second weekend of the Product Of Your Environment pop-up shop (see last entry for more details)

Secondly, after a successful stint at the Create Place last month, we have been asked back to be part of their selection for the Snapshots Christmas market at Richmix in Bethnal Green

and last but by no means least… Sannapanda is taking a trip to the Seaside! Yippee!

We will be appearing at Noel’s Multicoloured Pop-up Shop in the Pie Factory in Margate! (you had me at “Pie”!)

So a big thank you to Caro from Predominantly Print for inviting us to take part!

Sad to be not going in person, hoping to visit in the new year, any excuse to escape to the coast once in a while. Growing up in a seaside town, means I sometimes really miss the bracing sea air and staring out over the waves (the Thames is nice, but its just not the same!)

Anyhow, have yourselves a good weekend, whatever you get up to. xxx

Let the festivities commence!

November 25th, 2011

So the Festive season is drawing in! Its now exactly 1 month ’til Christmas day!

And I feel its finally time to tell you about all the lovely events we are part of this year! But as I still have tons to get ready for the first one, I will just tell you about this weekend’s events for now to whet your appetite, and then give you a full run-down of December’s markets and shops next week…

So the festivities begin for Sannapanda in Tooting! (toot toot!)

We will be at GotCraft? which will be making its London debut in the Tooting Tram and Social!

Brought to us by the lovely people at lotus events, who have established quite a following over in their Vancouver hometown, with keen craft-lovers queuing up as early as 5am to get one of their Goody bags!

I will be sharing a table with the gorgeous Bridget of BHmakes, and we’ve gone for slightly christmassy, but still a little autumnal look to our display, will post some pics soon.

For more details of who else will be their touting their beautiful wares, see the vendor list here

But if you cannot manage to get that far south, we also have some stock at the Create Place’s Christmas Pop-up Shop in Bethnal Green.

It is just down the road from the Bust Craftacular, that we have been at a few times, but not there this time unfortunately. However there are some fantastic friends of ours who will be there, so do pop along, as I am sure it will be a good as ever!

But don’t forget to swing by the Create Place too if you do, its a mere stone’s throw away, plus it says on the website FREE minces pies and mulled wine! So you can get that christmassy feeling in your belly!

Anyway, have a lovely weekend, whatever you get up to!

But please do say hello if you come and see us in Tooting! xxx
